Mold Monopoly Is Bigger Than I Thought - Al Rabin's Certified Mold Assessments Connections to the Levy/Karr Inspection Businesses and Rubino Remediation Business

As you may have seen in my preview to “Mold Monopoly”, the Karr/Levy/Rubino family dominates the mold biz. There is one apparent outsider to the family though.

A credible source informed me that Al Rabin, of Certified Mold Assessments in Florida1, was/is friends with the Levy twin patriarchs, Steven Levy, who owned Certified Mold Inspections in New Jersey, and Mark Levy, who owned The Mold Guy in California and befriended them while they attended college. A review of their LinkedIn pages indicates all three men attended Northern Illinois University - Al Rabin from 1977 to 19812, and Mark and Steven Levy from 1980 to 19823.

In comparing the work product of Steven Levy’s Certified Mold Inspections and Al Rabin’s Certified Mold Assessments, I found startling similarities based on the cover pages of their reports alone.

After finding Al Rabin’s personal FaceBook page4, my suspicions were confirmed.

In fact, I even found photographs of what appears to be Al Rabin with Steven Levy.5

I found that Rabin constantly reposted posts from his Levy twin friends, which is odd given that he did not repost items from other companies, as if he was also promoting them.

I also went to the FaceBook page for Al Rabin’s company, Certified Mold Assessments6 and I suppose it should come as no surprise that among those CMA “follows” include Brian Karr - We Inspect and Michael Rubino7.

What is bizarre is Certified Mold Assessments says they now operate all over the country. (It’s worth noting they are not licensed to do so in New York, however.) Starting to sound like WeInspect, isn’t it? I did call their number and they answered “Certified Mold”.

I spoke to people who claimed to be customers of CMA and they all said one thing in common - CMA was expensive. It should also be of no surprise that one customer stated that CMA recommeneded HomeCleanse for remediation.

Sources have told me that this mold monopoly gets business from healthcare providers because this monopoly infiltrates their organizations and conferences. Rabin’s selfies at an Institute for Functional Medicine conference and photographs at other events confirmed these claims8.

I discovered that one of the men in the photos with Rabin who works for CMA is Sean McGrath. Of course the only book listed on his profile that he likes is none other than Michael Rubino’s “The Mold Medic”9.

It is also worth noting that McGrath’s FaceBook friends include no other than Corey Levy, and the Levy twins Mark and Steve Levy10.

While I had FaceBook open, I decided to take a look at the page of Michael Rubino of HomeCleanse11. Of course he would be “following” none other than Brian Karr - We Inspect, Certified Mold Assessments, Deepak Chopra, and Goop!

I don’t think the world is so small for all these coincidences. But I do think it’s a bizarre world.
